Protest over science centre closure plan: "Ms Hawkshaw, a home educator who founded the Young Scientist Forum, a group of home educated young science fans, along with her son, Ira Tungate, eight, is hoping to bring more pressure to bear on council and business chiefs with the protest and is urging parents to bring along their children to the event. She said: "I want children to come and protest and have their say as it's a centre for them more than adults. A lot of under-fives use the facility. It's such a valuable educational resource, particularly if you are a home educator."
